Parler Apparently Temporarily Blocked Its Own Co-Founder and Former CEO

“Parler, the conservative social media website, appeared to have banned its cofounder and previous CEO on Friday,” reports BuzzFeed News, “earlier than restoring his admission later that day.”

An anonymous Slashdot reader contributes to this report:

John Matze, whom Parler’s control fired in advance this month, informed BuzzFeed News that he believed he was banned after making numerous posts and remarks on the platform in advance this week. Screenshots that Matze shared on a Telegram channel confirmed that his account was made “private” on Friday after he’d made a post asking his 722,000 Parler fans what they thought the “market value” of the agency was. Earlier this week, he posted a message on Parler, asking fans to enroll him on Telegram, a famous messaging app. When BuzzFeed News tried to talk with the handle, it received a message that the account was “blocked.”

“I recognize it is a ban due to the fact that I recognize how the structure works,” Matze informed BuzzFeed News over text. “I can not log in anymore.”

After BuzzFeed News contacted a Parler spokesperson to approximate the situation, the social community unblocked the account, in line with Matze, who supplied a screenshot. The spokesperson now no longer offers any comment.
