The shortstop Carlos Javier Correa Oppenheimer is Puerto Rican.

Baseball player Carlos Correa, who was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, on September 22, 1994, has earlier played with the Houston Astros. Correa was picked by the Astros as the first overall selection at the time of the 2012 MLB Draft. Correa was awarded the American League (AL) Rookie of the Year Award in 2015, which was the year that he first made his Major League Baseball debut. Correa was a participant in the 2017 World Baseball Classic, received the AL Player of the Month award for May, was chosen as an MLB All-Star, and captured the World Series.
